Nail Art

So over the past few months I have become more and more obsessed with doing nail art. I've been practising my little socks off (mostly leopard print because it is just soooo pretty!) and I even auctioned off my services for the Breast Cancer Campaign charity during Wear it Pink month.

Every year we try and raise as much money for Wear it Pink and this year one of the extra things we did was nail art with all the money going to charity. I did 16 people's nails (mostly leopard print) and it was a huge success. I've even got a couple of girls paying me to do their nails for them for all of the upcoming Christmas parties which is pretty cool.

So here are a few of my favourites of the nails I've done recently...

Definitely going to try and learn a few more designs and keep practising. I think icicles are my next challenge!

On an on another note I've got a blog about being a PA if anyone's interested - Organised Fun.

Slacker.

So long time, no blog post!

I have been a very bad blogger. I'm not entirely sure where the past few months have gone to be honest. My life just seems to have been consumed by work and thinking about blog posts I want to write, rather than actually getting the chance to do so.

However I thought I'd post a few pics of some pretty nail art I've been doing. I am still clearly very obsessed with leopard print and I think I've been improving. The girls at work have asked me to start practising on their nails so hopefully I'll continue to improve but here are a few that I've done recently...

I think this is my favourite, done yesterday for one of my fellow PA's at work. I used the new Chanel in Peridot for her left hand which I think just looks fab.

This is a rather funky random one that I tried out a few weeks ago, VERY colourful!

Ombre nails! Love this look and had lots of fun mixing and creating the colours for it.

So there you go. Mostly I've been doing nails and work so busy busy! Hopefully more updates soon.

ebay make up sale - Chanel & Nails Inc

hi guys! I've been very quiet for the past few months. Lot's going on which has kinda pushed blogging to one side which has made me feel very sad. I'm hoping to get back in to the swing of things as there's lots of stuff that I've been loving recently. Right now I'm at work so just popped on to say that I'm selling a few things over on ebay if anyone is interested...

Chanel Mimosa - THE colour of the summer, a gorgeous yellow that is sold out everywhere, really love this but this is an extra bottle I'm selling for a friend.

Nails Inc in Tudor Way - a gorgeous navy blue colour, this is a brand new spare bottle as I already have it and love it!

Also just in case there's any Rob Pattinson fans out there... Brand new sealed copy of Robsessed DVD!

Model's Own & WAH - Smash-Up

Morning all. Just a quick heads up that the awesome people at Models Own have just released the first two colours in their new Smash-Up range that they've developed with WAH nails. They're £6 each or the two for £10 and at the mo you can get the black and silver colours. Personally I’m holding out for them to release the other colours this month, I've got my eye on the turquoise and pink but the silver does look fab. Let me know if you grab them and what you think. They're bound to be great as Models Own nail polishes are just consistently gorgeous! Check them out here.

Model's Own Smash-Up Crackle Nail Polish

INCREDIBLY excited about this. Model's Own have done what I've been waiting for them or someone else to do... they've gone and made a whole range of crackle type nail polishes in lots of gorgeous colours! Check out these bad boys...

One word... GORGEOUS! I most definitely will be getting these, I think I'll personally go for the blue, turquoise and pink as those colours just look fab. The whole range is great and I'm really excited to get my hands on them. Whoever got them to join forces with WAH deserves a big kiss from me! More details from them over here on their site.

MAC Wonderwoman

Lovely people, sorry I've been MIA... been stuck doing revision for this course I'm doing for work. Anyway just popped on to say that the Wonder Woman collection has launched online at MAC so GO BUY IT! Sooooo pretty! They haven't got the Mineralize Skinfinish in yet which is what I'm after but I might just have to buy a nail polish whilst I'm there!

China Glaze - Crackle Glaze

So ever since I introduced Barry M Nail Effects nail polish to my friend Liz she's been banging on about why isn't it availble in other colours! I had no answer to this question... until now!

The lovely people over at China Glaze have just introduced a new collection called Crackle Glaze and... you guessed it... it comes in more than just black!

It comes in 6 different shades; Lightning Bolt, (white), Crackled Concrete (grey), Black Mesh (black), Crushed Candy (light bluey-green), Broken Hearted (pink) and Fault Line (sparkly purple).

I really like the look of all the colours, a nice mix that will go well with lots of different colours. Right now I can't find anywhere in the UK that is selling them but let me know if any of you do. I know Beverly Beaute sells China Glaze so maybe they'll get the Crackle Glaze soon. I shall leave you with a little video demonstration from China Glaze...

lip gloss galore

So the other day at work a friend of mine was doing some "Handbag analysis" as part of some research for a project she was doing for one of our clients. She asked me to fill in a questionnaire and then asked me to empty out the contents of my handbag and then asked me questions about it. When I did this I discovered that there were SIXTEEN lip glosses in there. No wonder my handbag is so ridiculously heavy! Anyway I've decided to do a little post showing you my lip glosses. I'm pretty sure there's at least another 5 in my desk at work but never mind.

So that is my collection. 70 in total, but like I said there's definitely more at work but they're my least favs anyway. I do think this little collection goes some way to explaining why I'm in so much debt!

So my ultimate favourite lip products are...

(L-R: MAC Lip Glass in Revenge is Sweet from the Disney Villanous Villains collection, Lancome in 001 lip plumping gloss, Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de gloss in Insolence, Dior Addict lip polish in 002 and 003, MAC Creemsheen Glass in Melt in Your Mouth, Clarins Instant light natural lip perfector in 01 and 02 and finally Covergirl Wetslicks Amazemint in Pink Positive and Freedom of Peach and finally a pot of Vaseline in Rosy Lips.)

Have to say I love the Covergirl glosses mostly because you can't get them in this country so my Canadian best friend or her mum picks them up for me when they're there. Plus every time I put them on in my head (OK, sometimes out loud) I say "Easy, Breezy, Beautiful... Covergirl" like I'm in ANTM! But for cheap lip glosses these ones are actually really lovely and they taste like mint!

If I did have to whittle down my collection it would definitely be those 10 glosses and the pot of Vaseline. Cannot live without them!

Cowshed Spa

So this evening I was lucky enough to be taken to the Cowshed Spa in Soho. I work in media as a PA and we're always sending off our directors to lovely events with media owners and all we do is sit in the office... so the lovely ladies over at The Metro decided that we deserved a treat so organised a little spa evening for a few PA's from different agencies. I went with my lovely friend and fellow PA Karen and we had a great time.

We all met at the Cowshed Spa in Soho and had the spa to ourselves for the evening. We all got to have 3 treatments each, lots of champagne, canapes and a goody bag at the end.

I ended up going for a manicure, pedicure and back massage. All three were just so amazing. The back massage almost put me into a coma it was so good. It was only a 30mins one but it was so good it felt like longer and my back is just feeling so relaxed and good now. I also smell absolutely gorgeous. I really like the smell of their products. I love that about going to spa... you just leave smelling so tasty!

I also had a mani/pedi done and it was great. My poor tootsies looked a right mess when I went there and they are now looking beautiful! They use Essie nail products which is great as I love Essie and they have such a huge range. I ended up going for a gorgeous pinky purple colour, I didn't check the name but I think it might have been Splash Of Grenadine from the Resort collection.

I had a really wonderful evening and would totally go there again. Now I'm off to check out my products from little goody bag I received...

Pay Day news!

Morning all! I'm in a very good mood this morning as it is PAY DAY!! Woo hoo. January has been the longest, most depressing month of my life as I have been living off about £3 for the past 4 weeks. Not good for a shopping addict, that's for sure.

But the drought is over, I've been paid and am trying to carefully budget what I can buy this month. First stop was over at Luxury Haircare.co.uk to buy some Kerastase as my poor dyed locks have been very unhappy with me for not using it for 2 weeks. Luxury Haircare is the place I've found it the cheapest and they've been really good whenever I've ordered from them so I'd definitely recommend using them.

Next up Nails Inc have released the Cashmere Collection which looks simply gorgeous...

I definitely have to get my mitts on one of those, really gorgeous and creamy which I'm very into right now.

Also Lookfantastic.com have finally got the Katy Perry OPI collection which is quite exciting. I think the only one I really want is Teenage Dream but I might buy the little mini set as I think its a great way to try them all. They've also released their Shatter nail polish which is great but I still think I'd rather buy the Barry M one which is amazing and much cheaper.

And finally MAC have had the Cham Pale collection online for a few weeks but now I've been paid I can finally buy some of it. I think the paint pots and the highlight powders are the best but by the looks of things they're all sold out. Gutted. Still a lovely collection though.

Oh and I'm massively excited that MAC are bringing out a Wonder Woman collection. Temptalia has all the details and pics but let’s just say it looks awesome and comes out in March in the UK.

Nails Inc and Diet Coke Promotion

So after posting about the Diet Coke and Nails Inc promotion on Wednesday I have been trying to get my hands on them ever since. Annoyingly Boots in Holborn didn't have them, apparently they had them in stock but the person hadn't turned up to do the display so they had to wait. So after checking AGAIN today I gave in and decided to trek to Chancery Lane and pray that the boots there had some and lo and behold... they did!

Woo hoo!

So I bought my 8 bottles of diet coke, picked up the 4 colours of nail varnish and dragged my rather heavy bag back to my offices. I now have backache but it was worth it.

The colours are different to the image I posted on Wednesday from the boots blog. For some reason they had a pinky colour up there and not the Caramel that is actuall in the collection. But all the colours are gorgeous anyway.

l-r: plum, caramel, denim and heather grey

Can't wait to try them out this weekend!

And now back to work and working my way through 8 bottles of diet coke!!

Nails Inc and Diet Coke

Everyone head to Boots to pick up your free Nails Inc nail polishes today! They've brought back the same deal from last year - when you buy two bottles of Diet Coke you can pick up, in store, a free bottle of Nails Inc nail polish in limited edition colours. The colours are even better than they were last year and this is SUCH a bargain.

Love Nails Inc. Love diet coke. Match made in heaven!

Top 10 Nail Polishes of 2010

So I thought I'd share with you guys my favourite 10 nail polishes that came out last year. 2010 was very much the year of the nail polish and I hope it continues this year because, for me, nothing cheers me up more than getting new nail varnishes and have pretty nails! So on to my top 10...

Dior - Timeless Gold
I was searching for somewhere that had this colour in stock for 4 weeks and when I finally found lets just say I was pretty pleased. It is just frigging gorgeous, it has a look of brushed metal to it if you know what I mean. Not cheap at £16.50 but totally worth it.

Chanel - Nouvelle Vague
Ah Chanel, how I love thee so. Nouvelle Vague was a cracker of a colour and I had to resort to extremely expensive measures to get my hands on a bottle but it was worth it. Such a vibrant and lovely colour.

OPI - Ogre the Top Blue
I LOVED the Shrek collection that OPI did, probably more so than the movie! All of the colours were great but the blue was definitely my favourite, it really pop's and I always get lots of comments on it when I wear it.

Nars - Pokerface
My first ever purchase of a Nars nail polish and I'm now a fan. Love the bottle, love the nail and most importantly, love the colour. It's a gorgeous shade of lilac with a lovely slight shimmer throughout it. Gorgeous.

Chanel - Khaki Vert
Another great Chanel colour that came out this year was Khaki Vert. Was released with 2 other limited edition Khaki colour but the vert was definitely my favourite. Such a gorgeous colour.

Models Own - Purple Ash
I discovered Models Own this year and I'm so pleased I did. Such a gorgeous range of colours and really quite reasonable price. My favourite was hard to pick but I went with Purple Ash which was part of the "Car Keys" collection which was kinda a take on Chanel's Khaki collection! Genius!

Nails Inc - Cadogan Square
Ah Nails Inc, got to be one of my favourite nail brands, they started off my obsession and I own pretty much all of their colours! This was one of my favs of 2010, such a gorgeous Camel colour, VERY autumn/winter 2010!

Nails Inc - Devonshire Row
Another gorgeous nails inc colour, this time from the Ice Cream collection and it was hard to pick one from that collection because the four colours in it were just gorgeous and I loved them all.

Andrea Fullerton - Julia
Superdrug got together with Andrew Fullerton in 2010 and brought out a whole range of awesome products. My favourite nail colour is Julia which a gorgeous kinda brick pink colour. But it's also worth mentioning the nail tattoos and stickers, peelable nail varnish and nail art sets as well. The whole range is well worth checking out.

OPI - Ski Teal We Drop
Big fan of OPI and I loved their Swiss collection. Really lovely autumn colours but Ski Teal We Drop was definitely the best colour. It's a really beautiful bluey teal colour that looks gorgeous on.

A special mention needs to go to Barry M's instant nail effects nail varnish. Everyone went crazy for it and every time I wear it I have people asking me about my nails.

And another special mention to Models Own for their collaboration with WAH nails in bringing out their nail art pens. They're amazing, easy to use and I've been practicing my leopard print skills!

So there you go. Hopefully I'll be making a similar post next year with even prettier colours!

Rodial Glamtox Night

Just a quick one to say that I'm selling a brand new bottle of Rodial Glamtox Night over on ebay if anyone is interested and a bottle of Essie's Limited Addiction as well.

Some link love

Hope everyone who went back to work today had a great day. I had a nice day, eased myself in gently so it wasn't too unpleasant!

Today I thought I'd share a few links with you guys. A few of my fav blogs have posted some exciting stuff over the past couple of days and if you haven't seen them then I've done a link round up of link love for you!

First up over at British Beauty Blogger she's been posting about a new Benefit product Finding Mr Bright which is just such a gorgeous set that has some of my favourite products in it. I'll definitely be getting my hands on that one when it comes out in the spring.

Next up over at Perfectly Polished there's a great post on this years Nails Inc & Diet Coke collaboration which I beyond excited for. They did the same thing last year and I got one of each colour and the colours this year are even more gorgeous.

And last up head over to Temptalia to vote in the readers choice awards for all of your favourite brands and products.

Three of my favourite beauty blogs so I hope you enjoy reading over there. Oh and whilst we're talking of awesome blogs, if you haven't already, then check out Musing of a Muse. She's awesome!

Benefit's Her Name Was Glowla

Happy new year lovely people! Sorry I've been MIA for the month of December, it's a crazy month at work with so many parties I had no time for anything else. It's a hard life I know!

Me at a couple of xmas parites

So I got lots of lovely things for Christmas but my favourite bits of make up that I really wanted were Benefit's Her Name was Glowla and Urban Decay's Naked pallette. I simply adore them both. I think most of you have seen the Naked pallette so I won't show you that but I don't think Her Name was Glowla has been given enough attention so thought I'd take a few pics to show it off.

It's a really gorgeous pallette that includes everything you need to do your look so really great to shove in your handbag in case of emergencies or unexpected over nighters! It includes the following:

- Mini CORALista (coral-pink blusher) with mini brush
- Mini high beam (pinky highlighter)
- Mini moon beam (golden highlighter)
- 5 eyeshadow's
- Mini BADgal mascara
- Full size Lip Gloss in "life on the A list" (peachy/pinky gloss)
- Fluff shadow & hard angle brush

I really can't say enough of how much I love this product. The colours are gorgeous and it's so handy having a mini of everything. If you manage to get your hands on this limited edition product then get it!

Oh and on a different note I'm selling Essie nail polish in Limited Addiction over here on ebay if anyone's interested.

Leopard print nails

So I had my first proper go at some nail art today! I've seen lots of people having the funky leopard print nails done by WAH and thought they looked awesome and wanted to try and recreate them. I'd seen some done by WAH in like a bluey/greeny colour with purple so wanted to try and do that one.

I used Chanel's Nouvelle Vague as my bluey/greeny base colour. I then used did dots using a pinky purple Barry M colour (it's a Boots limited edition colour, has no actual name). I then borrowed the new Model's Own nail pen from my flatmate to do the black outline, whacked on a nails inc top coat and this is the final results...

What do you think? Not too bad for a first time, I think I'll definitely have to keep practising but it was very fun! Can't wait to get paid so I can buy my own Model's Own nail art pens rather than borrow my flatmates!

Chanel Pulsion & Nars Pokerface

So I accidentally kinda spent all my money on nail varnish again... I really think perhaps I should invest in some kind of therapy for this addiction but for now, behold my gorgeous new purchases...

Pokerface by Nars

This is the gorgeous limited edition from Nars from their Holiday 2010 collection and it's a gorgeous Lilac colour with a slight shimmer. I'm totally digging this colour, it's a nice change of pace from the rest of the launches at the mo that are all very autumnal and muted. It's my first ever Nars nail varnish and I'm very impressed with it, great consistency and goes on really well. It costs £13 and I love it!

Pulsion by Chanel

Next up is the new Chanel nail colour from their Holiday 2010 collection called Pulsion. A very bright and gorgeous fuchsia pink colour that I love. For some reason on the Chanel website the colour looks very red but it's definitely not. I would say it's slightly darker than a previous release of theirs called Riviera. It's very bright and gorgeous and as always just a great nail varnish from Chanel. I'm such a fan... it's a real problem for my bank balance!

Ummm and on an unrelated note... how shocking was it that Aidan got kicked off the X Factor?! I'm in shock and very upset! He had the most gorgeous voice :(

Models Own - Nail Art Pen

Very exciting new launch from Models Own tomorrow! Launching on the 15th we'll be able to buy online the new Nail Art pen which they've created in collaboration with WAH nails. They're starting off with just two in Black and White but plan to launch in all the colours from their range. I'm quite excited about these, they look really easy to use and nail art is something I'd like to try and master. I think they only cost around £6 but don't quote me on that.

I can't wait till pay day so I can get some to try out!

PS. Don't forget to check out Wahanda's deal over HERE and sign up to get a free beauty voucher.
